RICHARD "DICK" DEGRAW

 

Dick DeGraw is a designer, builder and test pilot of rotorcraft. Dick's inventions have won numerous innovation awards, and his designs have been sold internationally for personal and military applications. A self-taught engineer, Dick designed and built a synchropter helicopter named the Hummingbird and was awarded the EAA Lindy Grand Champion. Dick went on to develop gyroplane VTOL technology which he used to win the first ever PRA Gyroplane Jump Takeoff Contest. Dick was an advisor on, and test pilot for, the NASA funded, Carter Copter project and is considered industry's principal advisor on gyroplane VTOL technology.

Dick is now in the process of building his 18th aircraft.
